After a great season at Barcelona, Pedri went to The Euros where he helped guide Spain to the semi-finals and picked up ‘The Young Player of the Tournament’ award.

Luis Suarez

Last season, Athletico coach Diego Simeone built a team around Suarez and he repaid that faith by netting 21 times in La Liga on the way to the title.

After Messi, Suarez has become only the second man ever to score 50+ non-penalty goals across all competitions in a season!

Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema has spent 12 years at Real Madrid. However, during much of that time, he was overshadowed by Christiano Ronaldo. Not any more!

Last season he hit 22 goals in La Liga. Also, despite France’s early exit from The Euros, he still netted 4 times.

Eden Hazard

When Real Madrid spent a reported €100 million on Hazard in 2019, they expected him to make an instant impact. Since then, however, the gifted Belgian has suffered a series of injuries.

Hazard is without question a world-class player and under new coach Carlo Ancelotti he is expected to be given a freer role, which should suit him and help him play with the swagger that he did at Chelsea.

Rodrigo De Paul

De Paul is a new addition to title holder’s Athletico’s squad. The Argentine midfielder has already had a taste of La Liga with a brief spell at Valencia and last season he shone for Udinese in Italy.

He now returns to Atlético with a Copa America win under his belt and should be confident going into this season. If Atlético are to retain their title, then De Paul could be a key man!
