Burnley v Arsenal: Preview and Prediction

Arsenal seek to record their first back-to back wins this season. Burnley attempt to beat Arsenal at home for the first time since 1973/74!

Arsenal have now lifted themselves off the very bottom of the Premier League table and out of the relegation zone. Also, as their rivals’ fatigue kicks in from this week’s European matches, the Gunners will now seek to make their week’s worth of rest count.

However, the Gunners travel to Turf Moor this Saturday having conceded 7 goals and scored 0 on their travels so far and Gunners fans will remember how a horrendous mistake from Granit Xhaka saw Burnley register a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season.

New Burnley arrival Nathan Collins could be in contention to play against Arsenal despite not playing against Everton, while the fans at Turf Moor will also hope to see Maxwel Cornet start the game.

Dale Stevens, Kevin Long, and Connor Roberts are not likely to be fit for the visit of the Gunners, while Collins is unlikely to force his way into the starting 11 over Ben Mee or James Tarkowski.

Sean Dyche may feel like reintroducing Jack Cork for greater stability in midfield this weekend, but an unchanged line-up will probably take to the field from the kick-off.

Meanwhile, for Arsenal, Emile Smith-Rowe and Thomas Partey were only fit enough for substitute appearances against Norwich, but the influential pair should really be reintroduced here by manager Mikel Arteta.

The tip for this game is a 0-2 away victory for Arsenal. After a win last weekend and no European football to take their focus away from the Premier League, expect the Gunners to have too much for Burnley, who haven’t beaten Arsenal at home since the 1973/74 season!
