Crystal Palace and Brighton Clash on Monday Night!

The final match of this weeks Premier League fixtures will take place on Monday night, when Crystal Palace host Brighton.

The Eagles, after smashing a 10-man Tottenham Hotspur in 3-0 thriller, were quickly brought crashing back down to earth at Liverpool, who netted three unanswered goals.

Not many teams have taken more points than Brighton so far this term, with only Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool being able to do so. The fourth-placed Seagulls were even ahead of Manchester City for some time – but their tally of seven goals scored is by far the lowest in the top six.

Palace, meanwhile, had started to build up a period of confidence, with four points from fixtures with West Ham United and Tottenham – before their humiliating defeat at Anfield. Their total of five points from their opening five fixtures brings them to 14th spot in the rankings before this weekend.

Back in February the two teams came together in what has been called the biggest “smash and grab” in Premier League history. With 25 shots against Palace’s three, Brighton dominated the entire game, but the extra time proved to be vital, when Christian Benteke volleyed home to win the game for Palace, in the 95th minute!

Prediction

Look for Brighton to take all three points against Palace, with a strong set of attacking players and a seller record in these fixtures. Palace’s poor form recently will impact their confidence, but Brighton will be worried about the fitness of midfield duo Yves Bissouma and Enock Mwepu, who are questionable as starters.

Despite this, look for Brighton to dominate, with Neal Maupay getting one of the goals for the Seagulls!

Crystal Palace 0 – 2 Brighton
