Man City Clash with High-Flying Seagulls on Saturday

Manchester City travel south on Saturday to face Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Continuing their surge up the rankings following the international break, Man City barely needed to get out of second gear to beat Burnley at the Etihad last time out, with Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne both finding the net last week.

Pep Guardiola’s side were expected to face a much sterner test against Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League, but the Belgian champions’ strength was broken in a storming 5-1 win for the English champions.

It seems City have certainly moved far past their opening-day defeat to Tottenham Hotspur – taking 17 points from the last 21 on offer in the division – and they now occupy the third spot in the table behind Liverpool and leaders Chelsea.

Meanwhile, the Seagulls’ early dominance on the league has recently turned to draws, the latest of which came against bottom-of-the-table Norwich City.

Despite bossing the ball with 65% possession and firing seven shots on target, there was no way through for Graham Potter’s men at Carrow Road, and that result was their third draw in a row following Crystal Palace and Arsenal.

However, the Seagulls remain in the top four, and should not be underestimated, taking 11 points from the last 15 on offer.

City fans should not travel south expecting a five-goal win like they experienced in midweek, but Guardiola’s side should still get the job done with a professional performance on Saturday – netting three goals and taking the three points.
