The Battle of Manchester: Man City and Man United Will Clash in Northern Derby!

Old Trafford will host a highly-anticipated Premier League derby on Saturday, as Manchester United welcome Manchester City to the Theatre of Dreams for a vital match in the race for the title.

These two teams come into the derby seeking to get back to winning ways. City are coking off the back of a shocking home defeat to Crystal Palace, while United have won just two of their last six Premier League games.

In Manchester City’s defeat against Crystal Palace, the Glaziers ripped up the form book to come away from the Etihad with all three points to show for it, as Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher struck either side of Aymeric Laporte’s red card in a memorable 2-0 win for the Eagles.

While the reigning Premier League champions were dealt another early blow in their pursuit of a sixth crown in the competition, Pep Guardiola’s side responded in ideal fashion against Club Brugge in the Champions League, easing to a 4-1 win courtesy of goals from Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden, and Riyad Mahrez.

United’s trip to Tottenham, meanwhile, would ultimately cost Tottenham manager Nuno Espírito Santo his job, as the Red Devils prevailed comfortably in North London with strikes from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford setting the Red Devils on their way to a 3-0 win.

In terms of injuries, United are still without Paul Pogba, who is serving the second of a three-game domestic ban this weekend, while Raphael Varane has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury he sustained in midweek.

For City, they will be without the services of Ferran Torres for another couple of months, while Laporte will join Pogba in suspension following his red card against Palace.

For this match, look for City to edge United 2-0, with the Reds defensive failures starting to pile up, another free-flowing attacking game from Man City spells trouble for Solskjær and his depleted defence.
