With the weaker start of the season now forgotten, Arsenal are getting closer and closer to the European competition spots in the English Premier League (EPL) table. They are currently sixth with 17 points and they will hope to get in front of Manchester United, who also have 17 points, and who are going to face Manchester City in a big derby today.
The Hornets, on the other hand, are occupying the 16th position with 10 points. While they did surprise just about everyone with their late comeback win against Everton on the 23rd of October, they were then also outplayed in their last match against Southampton last week. This just about summarizes their inconsistency this season.
Mikel Arteta’s squad are getting better every match and they are now more confident than ever. Especially with Aaron Ramsdale in the net. Gabriel and Smith Rowe might have scored the two goals against Leicester City last week, but it was Ramsdale who was the star of the match. Not only did he come up with one of the saves of the season, but he also made seven more saves to keep his clean sheet and to impress just about anyone watching. He even impressed England manager Gareth Southgate, who decided to select him into the international squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, along with another Gunner, Bukayo Saka.
Things are looking dire for Watford. They last beat Arsenal in 2017 and in their last five matches Arsenal won beat them four times while drawing once. The same can be said about Watford’s new manager, Claudio Ranieri, who is also rather unlucky when facing the Gunners. In his career, he only beat them once in 18 matches!
Watford’s defence seems to be their main weak point. They are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, and Arsenal’s forwards will not want to miss the opportunity to score as many times as possible.
Look for Arsenal to roll over Watford 4-1 with goals from Lacazette and Smith Rowe.
