Eagles Swoop to Snatch Incredible Victory at Selhurst Park!

Zaha and Gallagher find the net for Crystal Palace, as they sweep aside Wolverhampton Wanderers in South London!

Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher’s goals enabled Crystal Palace to overcome Wolverhampton Wanderers at Selhurst Park and stretch their unbeaten English Premier League (EPL) run to six matches.

Zaha’s angled second-half strike from James McArthur’s through-ball was originally disallowed for offside against Palace’s Ivorian hitman, but the goal was awarded after a VAR review.

Gallagher doubled the Eagles’ advantage with 12 minutes remaining. His goal-bound strike took a heavy deflection off Wolves defender Conor Coady on its way past goalkeeper Wolves keeper José Sá.

Referee Graham Scott had awarded Wolves a penalty 10 minutes after Zaha’s opener, but VAR ruled that Joel Ward’s foul on Rayan Aït-Nouri had occurred outside the area and overturned Scott’s original decision.

Patrick Vieira’s side deserved the three points on the balance of play, with French forward Odsonne Édouard testing Sá on a number of occasions and veteran striker Christian Benteke going close to opening the scoring prior to Zaha’s strike.

Bruno Lage’s Wolves, who had won four of their last five league matches prior to their visit to south London, went closest through Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez in the first half.

Crystal Palace’s third league victory of the season lifts them up to ninth in the EPL table on 11 points. The Eagles are now one point behind eighth-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers. So far this season, Viera’s team have lost just two games from 11 and have taken points from Arsenal, West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur, and Leicester City!
