There have been some absolutely incredible goals in the history of Spain’s illustrious and glamorous top-flight. Here are three of the greatest ever!

Fernando Varela – Real Betis vs. Barcelona (2003)

Although primarily a defender for eight years at Real Betis, Varela managed to score one of the finest goals in La Liga history in 2003.

He picks up the ball in his own half and dribbles past the entire Barcelona defence, before shooting the ball just under the bar and himself into the history books!

The commentary on this clip is seriously outstanding too!

Rivaldo – Barcelona vs. Valencia (2001)

Rivaldo netted what many football experts and enthusiasts see as the best bicycle kick goal of all-time in 2001, against Valencia. It was the final match of the season and this unbelievable strike won the game for Barcelona.

The tricky Brazilian forward receives the ball on his chest in the 89th minute, with his back to goal, on the edge of the box. The ex-Barcelona legend then unleashes the fiercest and most incredible overhead kick that you are ever likely to see!

He claimed that this effort was the best goal in his entire career and it’s hard to disagree!

Ronaldo Nazário de Lima – Compostela vs. Barcelona (1996)

Fellow Brazilian and Barcelona forward Ronaldo is considered to be one of the best players to ever play the game. His short time at Barcelona will mostly be remembered for this stunning solo effort, away against Compostela.

The legend picks up the ball in the centre of the pitch. He uses his immense strength and skill to fight-off multiple defenders and scores what would become his signature goal.

Ronaldo netted 34 times in his first and only season at Barcelona. The hitman then crossed the El Clasico divide, to play for Real Madrid, where he found the net 83 times!
