Tottenham to Entertain Leeds in Sensational Sunday Showdown!

Antonio Conte is still searching for his first Premier League victory for Spurs. Leeds look to climb further away from the relegation zone. What will happen when the two outfits square up in the English capital?

Tottenham Hotspur will be searching for their first win in the English Premier League (EPL), since the middle of October, when they face Leeds United in North London on Sunday afternoon.

In Antonio Conte’s first league match in charge, before the international break, Spurs registered a 0-0 draw with Everton, while Leeds also earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Heading into this encounter, the hosts sit in 9th place in the EPL table, on 16 points from 11 games played so far. Their opponents occupy 15th, with 11 points.

Tottenham will have to manage without Cristian Romero on Sunday, due to a hamstring injury that the centre-back picked up during the international break. Meanwhile, Giovani Lo Celso has also come back from Argentina duty with a knock and is an uncertainty for Conte.

Midfielder Oliver Skipp is missing through suspension, but Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil have both returned to training, after recovering from their injury problems.

Harry Winks may have to step aside to allow Tanguy Ndombele to feature alongside Pierre-Emile Højbjerg in the centre of the pitch, while Romero’s position in the back three is likely to be taken by Davinson Sánchez.

Harry Kane should start upfront and the England star will be desperate to add to the one solitary EPL goal he has netted so far this season.

As for Leeds, Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling remain sidelined through injury, while Robin Koch will also miss this encounter for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Jamie Shackleton and Junior Firpo could both be involved, though, and the latter is expected to feature in the starting XI at left-back, with Pascal Struijk dropping down to the bench.

Daniel James is likely to operate through the middle once again in Bamford’s absence, with Jack Harrison, Rodrigo and Raphinha also featuring in advanced positions.

Leeds are more than capable of making this an uncomfortable afternoon for Conte. However, we are expecting a narrow win for Spurs. Our prediction is 1-0 to the North Londoners, with the goal scored in the second half.
