Free-Scoring Liverpool Sail to Mammoth Victory over Arsenal!

Liverpool smash four past Arsenal to stay 4 points behind Chelsea, at the top of the English top-flight.

Liverpool’s attacking trio of Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah, and Diogo Jota all found the net, as the Reds strolled to a 4-0 victory over Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday.

Forward, Takumi Minamino, also scored just 48 seconds after coming off the bench, late in the game to help sink Arsenal.

Jürgen Klopp’s side moved up to second place in the English Premier League (EPL) and restored the four-point gap behind leaders Chelsea, who briefly sat six points clear at the top with a thumping win over Leicester City earlier on Saturday. Arsenal now occupy 5th place, on 20 points.

Both managers, Liverpool’s Klopp and Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, picked up yellow cards and had to be separated during a heated exchange, following a contested header between Mané and Arsenal defender, Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The incident caused the game to increase in intensity. This soon resulted in Liverpool taking the lead through Mané, who headed home a searching cross from defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Jota doubled the hosts’ lead shortly after the half-time break, as he showed great footwork to beat opposing defender Ben White and goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, before stroking the ball into an empty net.

Salah, who had come close on a number of occasions, added one of his own on 73 minutes, tapping home after a Mané cross.

Minamino removed all hope for Arsenal just minutes later, as he scored a similarly easy finish, this time following a drilled cross from Alexander-Arnold.
